Ancestry Footsteps

Ancestry Footsteps is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the legacy of the Afro-Caribbean and African diaspora alive and thriving. This is done through community engagement sharing our cultural heritage through education, programs, events, and activities to preserve our traditions and embrace our future in an open and inclusive manner.

Ancestry Footsteps is proud to host this event and is committed to keeping our Caribbean and African legacy intact, thriving and evolving through ongoing initiatives that make significant contributions within our communities. This inaugural event is our first venture towards this goal.

Our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to make this event happen to feature artwork from Guy Beckles Kinetic Artist, the only known practicing Caribbean kinetic artist who hails from Trinidad but has exhibited his work internationally. In addition, we also plan to showcase art pieces from local and emerging African, Indian, and Indigenous visual and fine artists.

We encourage patrons to visit and spread the word of this exciting eclectic curated exhibition that intends to continue the conversation on the positioning of multicultural history and art within the Canadian cultural landscape.
